Swim Strong offers high quality backyard swimming lessons for those who seek a more convenient and personal experience for their child as they learn to swim.
Swim Strong is an authorized provider of Red Cross swimming programs. That being said, we offer all Red cross swimming courses (Swim Preschool, Swim Kids, Adult Basics, etc...). Both programs offer a wide variety of skill development techniques, water safety and fitness challenges. Our instructors strive for perfection when teaching each course to ensure every child leaves our lessons feeling more confident, safe and skilled in the water.
Swim Strong offers two lifeguarding packages, a standard lifeguard package which provides a trained lifeguard to watch over the swimmers in your pool or if you want to really bring life to your party you can get the Pool Party Package which includes a trained lifeguard, pool toys and lifejackets to show your guests you put in the extra effort to ensure an enjoyable and safe time at your party.
As a host you already have lots to deal with from cooking food to keeping everyone engaged. The last thing you need is to be worried about the swimmers in your pool... Thats our job! When purchasing the pool party package we will provide you with a trained lifeguard as well as toys, floaties and lifejackets to make sure everyone has a great time at your party.
With 4 kids at different swim stages we found it difficult to schedule swimming lessons through the leisure guide at times that worked for us. We took classes with Brett at Swim Strong and we were able to choose the exact class time and structure that worked for us. He taught my youngest two intro swimming skills through games and other fun ways. For the older two he was very knowledgeable in teaching them the different strokes and skills required for more advanced swimming. For both age groups he was very engaging and interactive with the children. My children loved their lessons so much we have added a few more to extend their time.
Recently we hired Bretton to lifeguard at a private party at our house. We were very pleased with his enthusiasm and his professionalism. As well, he jumped in and assisted an adult who was having trouble in the deep end. We weren't even aware of the incident, until he discretely told us later on in the evening. We will definitely hire him again.
Our two children, ages 7 and 4, just finished 8 consecutive days of private backyard lessons with Brett (we are here on summer holiday with family). We are so pleased with the lessons! Brett worked at both childrens’ different swim levels. He was kind and caring, while providing clear directions, structure and encouragement. Brett also gave feedback to the children immediately following the instruction of various skills. This helped the kids know exactly what to try to improve upon. Our children both demonstrated a lot of progress under Brett’s teaching. We will be sure to continue these lessons every summer. Can’t recommend Brett enough.
We had only a few lessons, but the kids enjoyed them and they were helpful. Considering going back for more lessons.
Brett was very friendly and professional. He assessed my skill level and showed me proper technique. I felt very encouraged throughout my lessons and Brett constantly motivated me. I would recommend Brett to anyone that is looking for a swimming instructor.
Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable! Bretton was great with my 8 year old daughter, keeping her focused and she showed amazing improvement over just 5 lessons. The investment is well worth it as you get at least 2 if not 3x the value as you would from group lessons. And they come right to you! We will keep going with SwimStrong
Bretton Hill has had a passion for aquatics his entire life. He previously worked as an instructor-guard with the City of Winnipeg as well as a swim instructor with Seven Oaks School Division. As a young entrepreneur, Bretton identified a need for private swim instruction and lifeguarding in residential home pools which led to the creation of Swim Strong in 2017.
